They originate in Japan. Small husky type dogs with a foxey look. Very instinctive natural breed. Great
hunting skills and smart as a fox in the night. Shiba inu's, the little brush dogs, that lived in the rolling hills of
Japan serving their owners as hunting companions, sled dogs, and protectors for thousands of years.
Shiba's are fearless little dogs, very loyal and loving. They love to run and play. They are
great with children and like to sleep with them in bed, and play as they wake up together
in the morning. Shiba's are clean little dogs and wash themselves like cats, they will wash
you too, out of love for you. They like a clean area and prefer to drop waste away from
the house. This is why walks are so important.
Shiba's are very intelligent with photographic memory, they know if something has
changed in the room or area, and will let you know. Shiba's can figure out puzzles on how
to get the hidden ball or stuffed toy. They are active thinkers. Play is important to the
Shiba inu.
Being hunters and somewhat territorial, you have to watch them around smaller dogs, cat,
birds and natural prey like mice or hamsters. Sometimes with other Shibas. If they get
jealous or feel the other Shiba is intruding on their space.
Shiba's do well with agility, confromation, obedience, and hunting trials. A good
Shiba owner likes to go for walks, hiking, running, ski-jorring, back packing and
hunting.
Shiba's can be a great family dog with children to play with and love them.

occassionally. Our puppys go to new homes with vaccinations, wormed, veterinarian checked
